For each language, obtain a translation for all of the app's text-content, menu choices, navigation elements, notifications, alerts, and messages. To localize an app for different countries, add a language for each country if possible. You can add to your app support for dialects of a language for different locales, such as Français (France) and Français (Canada). For example, a user can choose English (U.S.) for the United States locale, or English (U.K.) for the United Kingdom locale. Understanding language and locale settingsĪndroid users can choose both the language and the locale for their devices in the Settings app. For a complete description of resource-switching and all the types of configurations that you can specify - screen orientation, touchscreen type, and so on - see Providing Alternative Resources.)

When a user runs the app, Android automatically selects and loads the resources that best match the device. For an app developer, localization is about tailoring the entire app experience to a user's language and locale.Īn app can include sets of resource directories customized for different languages and locales. To reach the most users, your app should display information in ways appropriate to those locales. Testing languages and locales with appsĪndroid runs on devices in different languages, and in different places (referred to as locales ).Understanding language and locale settings.Unit 6: Working with Architecture Components I am not going to touch Vivaldi to make the same test, but I am sure its adblocker is as mediocre as any other native adblocker excluding Brave (which is not perfect and still misses some uBlock features).1.2: Fragment lifecycle and communicationsĤ.3: Best practices: network, battery, compression I mean, last time I checked Opera didn’t even support cosmetic filtering on Desktop browser, I added the same simple rules I use across extensions and browser ( ABP/Adguard/uBlock/Brave) and it didn’t do anything. If the way they implement it is worst than using an extension then will be useless, and I don’t think we know what Vivaldi is doing. I mean, a browser has to do it well to be efficient even if it is just for normal cosmetics and network filtering. More importantly, this will also sync the read state of the only because you can add “same lists uBlock uses” it doesn’t mean they will do the same job.Įspecially when uBlock has many advanced rules that will use scriptlets and many other uBlock features that make sure to really block stuff.īrave’s adblocker is 10 times more advanced that the garbage Vivaldi, Opera and Edge and Firefox and others use, and it still fails with some important stuff because Brave doesn’t still support all the resources uBlock supports. So, the articles you save on your phone can be viewed on your computer, or the other way around. Once you have signed in to your account, the app automatically syncs the data on a 2-way basis, and this includes the contents of your Reading List. It is only required if you want to sync your data between your devices. This is completely optional, you don't need a Vivaldi account to use the Reading List. Of course, to do this, you will need a valid Vivaldi account, and have to be signed in to it on both your phone and your PC.

Vivaldi for Android allows you to synchronize your reading list with your desktop browser. You may select multiple items in the list and manage them at the same time. Tap the three-dot menu icon next to a saved item to mark the article as read, or if you no longer need it, you can choose to delete it from the list. You can manage the read status of the articles manually too, which can be helpful if you want to mark a page as unread or vice-versa. Your Unread pages will remain highlighted at the top of the list. For reference, the links that appear blurry (grayed-out) in the Reading List panel indicate those that you are done with, these are listed in the Read Articles section, at the bottom.
